I’ve been thinking about starting a blog for a long time. I’ve written lots of blog posts in my head. But until I launched this new site, I never actually sat down in front of the computer, put my fingers to the keyboard, and wrote a post.
So today’s the day. It’s exhilarating and freeing and a bit scary, all at the same time.
Which, come to think of it, is a lot like life.
Perfectionism and Self Doubt Be Gone!
It has been an interesting process getting to this point. It’s been fascinating to listen to the voices of perfectionism and self-doubt in my head. And it’s been a matter of being in love with the endless possibilities for transformation, both yours and my own, that have made me sit my butt in my chair and write this.
I’ve had to get in touch with what’s possible, and let go of fear. I’ve had to be willing to step into my own power, and let go of doubt. I’ve had to stand firmly in knowing that I have a ton of valuable information to share with women, and let go of hesitation.
Which, come to think of it, is a lot like life.
My Dream for This Blog
I have a dream for this blog. I want to engage with feisty women around the globe. I want to offer ideas that make you think, that affirm who you are, that help you create the life you crave. I want to hear what you have to say. I want to read your comments. I want to create a community of vibrant, gutsy women who step into life and live it in a big and powerful way. I want to be a part of helping you get to where you want to go.
I want to share what I’ve learned, share what I know works, and share ideas that live at the intersection of professional and personal development. I want to help women step into their own power and really go for it.
It’s my passion. It’s my work. It’s my calling. It’s what I was born to do. I have to tune into that inner voice that tells me to jump into this with both feet and shout, “YES!”
My Invitation to You
So imagine we’re sitting at the kitchen table. We’re having tea together in handmade, funky, pottery mugs. We’re sharing ideas and thoughts and experiences with each other. We’re celebrating our successes, reveling in who we are, and growing together.
Which, come to think of it, is a lot like life.
Please come back. Stay tuned. Subscribe to the RSS feed if the spirit moves you, so you won’t miss any of these posts. I’ll be fine tuning this blog as I go forward.
And please—let me know your thoughts. That’s what the comments section is for.

Hi Ava,
I’m a self-avowed “comment fairy.” Am happy to leave a comment on your pretty new site. Glad you kicked out of your life that naysayer in your head. She’s a wimp you don’t need anymore.
Am a huge fan of tea/coffee klatches. Love conversation. It’s a lost art we need to revive.
Best to you and your new site!

Congratulations Ava! The site looks great. Duly bookmarked for frequent visits as you energize me with your wit, wisdom and frank feisty-ness. You have inspired me to get cracking on my own re-do and launch, so thank you.
Best to you,

Love the new site! And I so agree with you re: the need for perfection. How often has this prevented ANY action instead of just acting and knowing that people will value what you say and how you think without judgment? I am glad to see you blogging and sharing your wisdom. Looking forward to more!
